    Hiyah,

I have not visied this forum for a while...but now i am stuck again...grrr

About a year ago I converted all my old camera tapes to XSVCD format (352*288) MPEG 2 which worked very well however now i want to produce come edits of the material i converted rather than recapture and edit avi.

I have tryed Adobe premier 6.5 and it does open the MPEG 2 files ok but....it locks up fairly regularly and is not really usable (however I have used it for DV avi and it works great)

I also tryed Ulead Ulead 6.5 and it also opens the mpeg 2 files ok but EVERY time you make a small change to your edit, in order to preview what you have done it seems to reprocess the whole stream.....which just takes forever (even on a athlon XP2000+)

Can anyone sugest a GOOD fast MPEG editor please? even is the preview is crap quality just so i can see what i am doing before i do a lengthy process
