I had a philips 951 and it would play svcd on 100 min cd discs ok.
When I purchased my burner I found it to play some dvd-r discs but not other movies (same media).
I purchased a WINTEL 2010 and this has played everything!
It is also de macroed,and no region problems also has component and rgb plus scart .Plus true zoom feature.3 yr warranty.
I would recommend to anyone. Price aud $349 or say us$192
