I've had little luck with VCD's, so I'm thinking of getting a DVD burner. I want to know which format you all feel is better, and why, please. Or should I just wait and get that drive Sony is making that can do both formats?

Greetings-Neither is better, the DVD+R is a little faster, the DVD-R may have the edge for video and have more compatibilty with other DVD drives. It is a shame the DVD manufacturers cannot figure out a single format. Eventually, there will only be one format, so it's a 50-50 shot.

Yeah DVD-R is more compatable with many of the set-top dvd players out there currently. In my opinion it's not worth the money for +R/RW and it's not as universal as -R/RW.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about doing. Just wait a month and not have to worry about it.
