  1. I have an ATI AIW trying to make SVCDs.
I followed the "Creating SVCD Music Videos using an ATI..." tutorial it all work ok except 1 thing. The AVI that VirtualDub makes look and sounds right but after re-encoding with TMPGEnc the mpg file plays too fast. the sounds pitch is too high too .

Any one else have this problem or know what i can do to fix it

The only thing different than the tutorial I did is in TMPGEnc settings/video the "DC component precision" is set to 8bits not 10bits. Its one of the many things I cannot change in TMPGEnc settings. I don’t know what this does or why I can’t change it. So if anyone has an idea about that I’d like to know.

to change setting in tmpeg after you load your template click load again and then go into the extras folder and load the file unlock.mcf then you can change any settings you want.

  3. Reinstall the player you use to play the mpeg files.

  4. secretagent: thanks that helped me unlock TMPGEnc.

I use windows media player to play the mpg. But I'm not sure if there is a problem now. I burned a SVCD and it seems to play right on my DVD player. not absolutly sure on that cause its in a different room, cant play them side by side to see any difference.

ill have to test it more thanks.
