    I am trying to convert and avi to mpeg but i think it has a mp3 audion and tmpgenc doesn't seem to find it. Is there any orther way of converting other that using a dubbing software and splitting the tracks? What is the best way to convert this type of file?

    If TMPGEnc is not converting, you may have a missing codec.

    Also check this
    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
    right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4
