  1. Hello. I am an absolute novice, but I know exactly what I want. I am wanting to create a VCD from an AVI file. However I have absolutely no idea what to do. I've been looking around the site, but I don't really understand it. So I've come here for help. Let me explain the details of what I have and what I want.

    I have:
    An AVI file (junkies.avi)
A Powerpoint presentation with 2 slides on it (one for the main menu, and another with information about the AVI on it)
    A WAV file (junkies.wav)

    I would like to:
Convert the AVI to a suitable format
Convert the presentation to menus (from the main menu (1) it goes to either the video (2) then goes back to 1 when finished, or from 1 it goes to a still (3), then you can select to go back to 1 or 2 (I hope that makes sense ))
Include the WAV file on the main menu
    Rip it to a CD

I have this thing called TMPG or something. Can anyone help explain it in a language I can understand? :P Thanks.

    Hi Boiledhead!
On the left-hand side of this page, click on "convert", then click on "how to convert to VCD with TMPEGenc". That's what i used and i found it very useful!
Play around until you get things right, then starting reading other forums, and it does become clearer eventually!

Hope this is some help! :P

  3. OK, that's some help johnc_10, thanks for that. However, if anyone can help me, the absolute novice, on how to do parts 2 and 3, that would be much appreciated.

Trouble is your using a program that is not very popular

    1, download AVI
2, scan for junk frames in Vdub
3, convert to Mpeg 1 (VCD) with TMPGEnc
    4, burn with Nero

Now that’s the most popular way, but has no menu, or jumps, from there you need do some reading
