I captured two tv shows (30 mins each) in mpeg2 format. I used TMPEG - latest version - to convert to SVCD and then cut out commercials. Each file (22 mins) is 415MB! I can't fit two shows on one CD. What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't you be able to fit more than 44mins on one CD?
I used the SVCD template that TMPEG came with, and toolame.

You can't fit 830 MB on a 80 min cd, only about 795 MB.
When making SVCD is it the bitrate that decide how much you fit on a CDR not the playtime. Use a bitrate calculator to calculate the bitrate before so you know how big it will be www.vcdhelp.com/calc or any other.
