Hello
I have a big problem that i need a big help with.
The Problem:
It takes 1h to rip a DVD to the HDD. It have taken 5-10min wene i was using win98.
Computer:
WinXP
Pioneer DVDrom 10x
I have done all the things that have been writen in this forum but none of them works. Plz help me i dont have time to wait 1h to rip a DVD. Should i go back to 98?

Have you installed an ASPI layer since upgrading to WinXP ? This may help. Try searching Adaptec's website for ASPI, or google for ForceASPI.

Im using SmartRipper and i have also try DeCompressor (think it called that). -
Thinking about it, it has always taken me about 45 mins to rip a full movie. 5-10 mins previously seems awfully quick. How long are the films that you are ripping ? Have you tried ripping the same movie that took 5-10 mins on Win98, as a comparison.

I used to rip all my movies in about 10 minutes, but recently, it takes about 40-50 minutes for all movies, I tried different harddrives, it was the same. I think the DVD-Rom is worn out, I have sent it back for warranty repaire.
