    Hey all,

I tried another DVD, this time it was The Original Kings of Comedy.

Same as last time, everything ripped fine. Only wanted the main movie, nothing else.

Problem is, when I simulate in spruce, I get no sound at all

I've followed this guide to the exact letter

    http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/index.htm

This is the second DVD I've tried which presented the same problem, no sound at all.

Could you please look at the guide and let me know if the actual guide is missing a step for the audio?

Or is there a different way/program to try authoring again.

    rempg is a slow sumbyatch

Thanks so much for your replies

I've never used the guide that you are talking about. Are you making sure to include the audio in the stream after you reencode the video with Rempeg2? Try this guide instead as I know that this one works:

    Lance,

Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a shot. Is there a possibility to use the already ripped vobs and stuff already on my HDD. My puter is quite fast so getting it again will not be a problem.

I'll holler at you again and let you know how it goes

  4. I used that guide when i first started out and it works fine, too slow with Rempeg2 though that's why i changed to CCE

I take it your movie and audio file have the same name like

    Movie.m2v and Movie.ac3

and also in the same directory otherwise it won't import the audio, also if it's imported ok so will have a little icon of a speaker next to the movie showing that it has sound.

They do have the same name, but I definetly have NO speaker icon next to the movie icon?

This is what is stumping me, from both of my previous rips neither one of them had the ability to do sound, movie is great but no sound

This is why I believe I am missing a step, or spruce is not importing the ac3 file as it is supposed to

    BTW,

I do have CCE, not sure of the version though, have not tried anything with that

    Was wondering,

Do you think I might have this problem because I am using the on-board motherboard sound of my ASUS P4B533 and 2.53GB P4?

I do not have an actual sound card installed in my machine

    Well,

Looking through all options on ReMPG2, Under tools, I found the option for
ac3 to MPG2 Audio transcoder and am now in the process of encoding the audio.

Was this the step that I missed?

This was not in the guide!

    I GOT IT!!!!!!

What I had done incorrectly was name the ac3 file with the .ac3 extension. So my original file was named XXXXX.ac3, when it should be only named XXXXX. The ac3 file is already that, an ac3

Anyhow, I went back into my Blade II that I originally had audio problems with, renamed it as well, and it WORKs as well.

Thanks to the fellas who posted here and helped me get my mind running in the right direction

    HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

  9. to make your life easier with stuff like that, in windows explorer, under tools - file extensions - view, clear the check box that says hide extensions of known file types. That way you can actually see what the extension is, which is pretty important in this game for a lot of programs.

If I understand correctly your filename was filename.ac3.ac3 therefore your filename was not the same as your movie name, thus spruce was not importing. Clearing this checkbox will let you see the extensions in the future. Just a suggestion. If you already did this, just disregard.
