  1. I'm trying to build my own PVR/TIVO type system using a PIII-550 with 256MB Ram, 20GB HD, DVD and CDRW drives. I'm going to throw a ATI AIW 7500 card into it for the TV Tuner and it comes with an RF remote to control the computer.

I use the computer still for other applications, so I want to keep it in my office, BUT I want to be able to access the PVR features in other rooms. The ATI card has composite outputs, so I figure I can connect the outputs to the other TVs that way.

    My question....

How long can the composite cables reach before they start to loose the signal? How can I extend that?

    Thanks for the help!

(this was in the wrong forum before, sorry)

  3. Hello-The longer the cable, the weaker the signal. If you're starting with composite analog, you don't have much to lose. Try to keep the cables short. I have the AIW 7500, it's pretty cool. Make sure you get the latest driver upgrades from ATI.
