  1. Hello there,
I am new to using IfoEdit and in need of expert help. I am trying to get american pie 2 unrated version (dual layered) on to DVDR.
I have stripped the DTS and other unwanted audios (commentary). After doing this the DVD would NOT play using a software player.

The movie was contained in VTS_06_1 to VTS_06_6 but the menu uses VTS_06_0. Stripping the audio left me with VTS_6_1 to VTS_06_4 which is now an ideal size. Using the ifo files created from the destination folder the dvd would not work, but using the original ifo file with the new VOBs now works. This now leaves me with a new problem, chapters don't start at the correct point in the movie.

Have I gone about things wrong or is there something else I need to do to correct these problems.

PS. Tried reading guides which were quite helpfull but I am now stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Hey there,

Do you want to keep the menu or do you want just the main movie? There is different ways of doing each one. Check out some of Derrow's guides on doing each one.

Open up the ifo file in ifoedit then try using the correct ifo feature in the dropdown menu. Then you have to 'save' the corrected files (ifo & bup), it will prompt you anyway. Also you have to copy over the VIDEO_TS.* files from the original movie folder to your new movie folder.

  4. IfoEdit 0.932 is seriously broke when it comes to stripping streams, use 0.91 and it'll work fine

If you are just trying to get the main movie:

Load the VTS_06.ifo file into ifoedit. Select "VOB EXTRAS".
Check the following: Strip Streams, Strip languages (if applicable), and Create to new .ifo and video.ts files.

Select the directory you want it to go to, and presto!!!

Dump the newly created files in a folder named VIDEO_TS, use IFOedit to get the VTS sectors for each IFO and burn it.

  6. Hi,

Thanks for your replies. I had tried the suggestions mentions. I think there is a bug with Ifo Edit.

My VTS_06_0.ifo file before stripping audio looked something like this:-

    [Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C id 1/1] Etc..
    [Cell 02] ...
    [Cell 03] ...
    [Cell 04]
    [Cell 05]
    [Cell 06]
    [Cell 07]
    [Ch 02] [Pg 01] [Cell 08]
    [Cell 09]

After Stripping looked something like this:-
    Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C id 1/1] Etc..
    [Cell 02] ...
    [Cell 03] ...
    [Cell 04]
    [Cell 05]
    [Cell 06]
    [Cell 07]
    [Ch 08] [Pg 01] [Cell 08]
    [Cell 09]

As you can see from above the chapter numbers were wrong. Chapter 8 starting at cell 08 should be chapter 2. Chapters 2-7 had gone.

I had to manually change these numbers, now all is ok.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  7. Question for smearbrick1:

    You wrote:

I have 5 ifo files, (VTS_01_0.IFO - VTS_05_0.IFO as well as the VIDEO_TS.IFO file) is there a particular order to get VTS sectors?
For example start at number 5 and work my way down to number 1 then the VIDEO_TS.IFO last or does it matter at all?

Also do I need to save each IFO file before going to the next one?

In all of the guides I've read, they say are very vague on this subject. I usually load the VIDEO_TS.IFO first, then go through them in sequential order. I have read this is not necessary to do all of the IFO files, but once again, the guides are pretty vague on this. Just to be safe, use the get VTS SECTORS on each IFO.
