  1. as in im not getting one

I have brought the leads that I thought would be correct to achieve seeing my pc desktop on my tv..
this is what i have brought and my system specs and drivers....

    the leads are here... http://www.svideo.com/svideoscart.html
they seem to have a good rep :S

and my system is a amd1400, Geforce3 (ASUS) with tv in/ tv out
I have installed the Nvidia WMD 1.6 drivers

    ..
Now i plug the S-video connector into my tv-out connection on the back of my gfx card and into the scart adapter which goes into my tv/in on my VCR.

    And I get -- nothing!
    what am i doing wrong?
I dont even know where to start :S
    ok thanks

Many cards need to have TV out enabled in the proerties.

Desktop properties/settings/advanced should bring up a dialog with lots of tabs. Poke around and see if you find a TV out or display tab.

    Good luck.

Oh, and also... many cards have restictions on what resolutions can be transmitted to the TV, try reducing to 800x600 and see if it comes on.

  4. Hi.. thanks Snowmoon.. after you said that it made me delve further and I found a bit that said about changing from analogue dsiplay to TV...
so I did that. and wala! the desktop appears on my television....

    BUT

it makes my monitor go into like a standby mode state?
so it is just blank screen and the power light fades out (but so the monitor is still on)--> so then I have to use the tv picture to go back to how it should be or wait 15 seconds....

    how comes??
    more help please
