    Hi just a quick question. Can someone tell me which is the best encoder to use, i.e fastest and best quality?

    TMPG or CCE. CCE is much faster.

    With DV sources I have excellent results with Pro-coder(mpeg 1&2), its about the same speed as Tmpgenc.

    The speed depends on the CPU you have ( a Pentium or not a Pentium). Tmpenc is fastest on a P4, while Ligos is slow on a P4. Don't know about CCE, but I assume it runs the best on a non-P4.

    Quality is in the eye of the beholder...

    CCE runs lightening fast on my Atthy 1.4... Quality damn nice...
