Hi!
I have just ordered my first DVD burner, it's a DVD+R/RW burner. Now, I want to make backups of my current DVDs using the BEST possible quality. I only need the AC3 sound and the best possible picture, what software will do this (comercial of freeware doesn't matter). What format should I ripp it into in order to get the best possible quality? Is there anything else I need to know?

Also, do I have to convert it do a differant format? It seems to me that the movies are in .vob format. Can't I just burn the vobs to a DVD+R?
