  1. I have several mpgs that play perfectly on my Mac using QT 5, however, when I burn them to VCD (using Toast Titanium 5.0) the audio slips and is out of sync (usually about 1-2 seconds ahead). I also have several mpgs that burn just fine audio-wise, it is only a few files that have the problem. Any that I have encoded myself are fine. I have tried burning from different drives and doing it while the computer is idle to make sure Toast is getting what it needs. I have even ripped the mpg from the problem VCDs and they the audio is in sync fine on my Mac with the resulting mpg.

I am viewing them with an Apex 600A.

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

    Thanks.

  2. Exact same situation here...tried the VCD on several Apex 600's with same result. I was getting a 55 frame audio delay.

Gave the VCD to a coworker with a Sony DVD player and he reports no sync problems.

  3. I was just attempting to make XVCDs yesterday and saw a similar effect when I was, apparently, overloading the video bitrate. My Apex 500w would choke a little on the video, but the audio would keep on going, the end result being that the audio won the race to the end. So, any hiccup in the video output could probably cause this. Now to figure out what causes hiccups in the video output.

  4. here is what i do and i have no problems:

I always have audio sync problems when i first download a movie so i doctor it with the divx player and make a .mov file . After that i precode the audio of the .mov file then i convert it to .mpg and finally i burn it with toast 5.

Try that, but if that doesnt work than i dont know what will!

  5. I've had this problem for months and you may have the answer, however, I have no idea what this means:

"..I precode the audio of the .mov file then i convert it to .mpg"

How do you do that? What does precode mean? And what do you convert it to mpeg with?
