Ok i know you need a modchip to play a burned ps2 game. But what on an original game and not on the copied? How does the ps2 know it a real game or a copied game? I'm sure the ps2 reconginzes dvd-r's since i can play my dvd-r movies in it. And if some special protection file isnt there any program that will create one and be burned with the game files? Like copying GTA3 theres a file 000000001.tmp or something like that which prevents someone from copying it. But CloneCD reads the errors on the orginal and writes them on the copy without any verfication and it works. Isnt there a similar way for ps2 games?

  2. Don't you know about sony's protection scheme? It's like a bad sector on the original DVD or CD that burner can't burn. It's not a file, it's really like some bad sector on the disc. If you try to copy that bad sector, your burner will just correct it before burning it, so the ps2 won't see that bad sector (it's not a bad sector, but close) and will know it's a copy. This is where the modchip comes handy!

yea but isnt there any program that will not allow the drive to fix the error and just write in a some raw mode or something. I know some drive are capable of reading errors and writing them. Isnt there some program that would just read the info and record the exact same regardless of any errors and write the error onto the dvd-r.
