  1. first encode(w/"movie quality mpeg" from dazzle) worked flawlessly - all since have either totally frozen my computer or caused an "external exception" error - tried the first mpeg again - same bad results - tried different versions of tmpgenc - no luck - searched this site for hours - big site - no answers - any help would be appreciated

  2. The most common reason for TMPGE to freeze during encoding is because the DIVX has bad frames.
    You can check for bad frames and remove them by using this version of Virtualdub.
    Scroll down to the version called mp3_freeze.

  4. sorry....my mistake.Was'nt paying attention.
    You could try VCDGEAR.
    Do a Mpeg > Mpeg and check the repair Mpeg errors box.

  5. reports no errors - creates a file w/mpg extension - larger than the base mpg - will not play in wmp
