I attempted to create a SVCD with the following features:
2 audio tracks, chapters, and selectable subtitles.
I used DVD2SVCD (ver 1.0.9 build 3) to rip + convert, then used VCDEasy (Ver. 1.1.2) to create chapters, bin/cue files, and burn the SVCD. Played it with my Apex AD-600: The chapters and audio tracks work fine, but I could not get the subtitles to display.
--Burned the original MPG file with Nero:
subtitles work fine, but no chapters.
--Burned the bin/cue files (created by VCDEasy) with Nero:
audio and chapters work, but no subtitles!
--I also tried VCDComposer to create chapters and burn (with CDRDAO):
audio + chapters work, but again, no subtitles.
So far, the only burning program that will let me display selectable subs is Nero - anyone know of another?
Any suggestions on a way to get chapters AND subtitles to work?

After update firmware from N4 to N6 (no region and no macrovision), it could not play some SVCD discs, which played fine with firmware N4. Because N4 only played SVCD subtitles, and N6 only played vcd subtitles, all my svcd subtitle didn't work anymore.

I'm using the N6 firmware, but I don't think that's the issue - if I burn with Nero, subtitles work (but no chapters); If I burn with VCDEasy/CDRDAO, chapters work, but subtitles don't.

You mean this part ?
N6 only played vcd subtitles, all my svcd subtitle didn't work anymore.
It's just that if I burn with anything other than Nero, the subtitles don't display, and as far as I know, Nero doesn't support chapters. You can't fool me, I'm a moron! -
I myself have struggled with Selectable Subtitles and still am, somewhat, now the best thing I can tell you is to not burn with VCDEasy, because after some research I found a thread that said that their is some problem with the Source Code that doesn't seem to show Selectable Subtitles correctly, so keep burning with Nero, now your Chapter problem, have you tried turning the PBC ON & Off and then trying out your Selections ???, also what kind of DVD Player do you have ???
P.S:- I don't know if that is the latest version of DVD2SVCD but are you creating the chapters manually with VCDEasy or using the option provided in the program...?
