  2. you should just download vdub

    You do need it to convert from avi to mpeg

    why do you ask this? are you trying to play a movie and the player is telling you that you don't have the right codec

  3. I have created an avi from Premiere using Microsoft dv avi. For some reason I can't load it into tmpgenc 2.57. I figure I musn't have the right codec. Even though I don't really understand what that means!

    Will install vdub and post a list of my codecs.

  4. When I tried to open it in vdub I got the following:-

    Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd' (unknown).

    VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.


    Any ideas?
