ok well i have a sony dvp-s350 player that does support vcd's. Ok...i am trying to burn a copy of the evil dead 2 onto a memorex 80 Min. Cd-rw. I have tried burning with nero and with vcdeasy. The first time i watched the vcd with nero's burn...it played great. the second time through it froze up for a few seconds...then resumed playing. It did that a few times. So, i tried it with vcdeasy. It freezes up alot more and eventually stops till where this message "C:13:00" pops up on the screen. I am really getting frustrated!!! Can any of you pro's out there help me out with what the problem is? I am really interested in getting good at this stuff, and so far it ain't working to good...lol. here's what i did with the mpeg encoder...
Open the wizard and picked NTSC-Film under vcd. Under the "Expert Setting" thing at the bottom it says "Non interlaced...4:3 625 PAL (704x576). Ok..motion search is set at highest quality...and now to the advanced tab. It says...Non interlaced (progressive) top field first, and 4:3 635 line PAL (704x576..which i think i changed to 4:3 NTSC 525 line). At the bottom of the screen the Inverse telecline is checked...i didn't do that it was automatically checked. In the GOP tab..i checked the output bitstream closed GOP box.In the quantize matrix tab..i checked the outout YUV tab and soften noise. Other than that i didn't do anything else!
So what's the deal guys? Where did i go wrong..help a newbie out here!

So obviously you converted from PAL to NTSC-film which might be the beginning of problem.

at the burning stage never burn at speeds greater than 4x. i've had no end of freezing problems till i dropped the write speed.

yeah i have never burnt on a speed over 2x...and i still get problems. could the glitches come because i have other programs running while i am encoding the file and when i burn...i sometimes have other programs running as well.

Well apart fom running TMPGEnc converting a AVI, typing in here, checking for email every 5 min... I also burn at 40X and have no problems, but that's no help to you...
Did you try a normal VCD template ?, Don't know about those CDR's I use Maxell
