have encoded my MPEG's with TMPGenc 2.57 and they work just fine when played on my PC, but when I burn to CD-R with Nero or DVD2AVI the movies audio will sometimes be out of sync with the video. I don't understand what I am doing wrong when buring to CD-R. Also, when I fast forward the movie the audio will always be out of sync for just a few seconds. Note: I have a P4 2.4mhz computer with 1gig ram, 120gig hard drive and 40x CD-RW burner. I use memorex CD-R's 700mb/80min...Mu stand alone DVD player is an APEX AD 500-w.

Thanx for your help in advance,
    JoshLawn

  2. Same thing has happpened to me before now. What speed have you been burning at?
I try to prevent by burning the film on 4x and not using any applications while its in progress. Seems to work most of the time.

  3. Give more details about your encoding step, and it will be more helpful if you provide all details include your original file.

I usually burn my movies onto CD-R at about 8x speed. I however notice no difference in performance when playing on DVD player as opposed to burning at 32x. I will try 4x or lower to see if that makes a difference.

I usually start with a DVD quality Divx file I download from Kazaa, then I use virtual dub to extract the .wav file at 44100hz & no compression. After that I use TMPGenc 2.57 to split the movie into two sections and encode it with both the Divx file and the .wav file. Finally when both halves of the movie are encoded and converted with TMPGenc, they play great. Just as expected, until I burn them onto disk with Nero at about 8x and play them on the stand alone DVD player. The audio will sometimes go out of sync from video, and the video will sometimes fast forward itself a few frames. When I rewind to the part in the movie where it had just fast forwarded through or went out of sync, it will play fine then.?. This happens to all DVD players I play these movies in.

    Thanx for the help,
