  1. i have a Divx DVD rip and its settings are below.

    Image- 704 x 352,
Audio- bit rate 96kbps, audio format MPEG Layer-3,
Video- Frame rate 29 frames/sec, Data rate 100kbps, video sample size 24 bit, video compression DIVXMPG4 V3.

i want to know what are the best setting i should use with TMPGEnc while converting to mpg? i allway get skipped frames and sounds all off. should i change the Image size(704 x 352) to something smaller like 320 x 240? will that make it so it wont skip so much or what should the settings be?

  2. Use default videcd(NTSC) if you live in US or Jap. And use default videocd(NTSC) if you live in other countries , unless you have problem playing your VCD then you need to convert to PAL format.

  4. How bad for skipping? Does it skip like a minute or just a few frames? Does this happen to the source file (avi) as well. If you play mpeg file with your PC does it skip and out of sync also?

For out of sync you might try to encode video and audio seperately. First load avi file into v-dub. Change audio to full processing mode then save ware. Load avi to video source and wav to audio source in TMPGEnc. This might help if you get lucky
