  1. i have a mpeg that i would like to play at a faster speed than it is. say 2x as fast. is there any program that will let you re-encode an mpeg at double speed?

    just re-encode it at a faster frame rate ... tmpgenc and most any encoder will do this ..

  3. doesn't work, after encoding the 29.97fps mpeg to 50fps, it still plays the same speed...

    save your video as frames .. then encode at any speed you want ... or strip the frame rate info from your source file ... an easy way to do this is to use a program like adobe premier in which you can skip the save to frame part (start a new project at a faster frame rate and re-render) ..

  5. i was looking in premiere, but i couldn't figure it out... i did get it to work using virtualdub and telling it to only process every 3rd frame, and set the framerate to 90fps. then i used tmpgenc to encode it back to mpeg. worked great.
