    I usually encode avi to mpeg VCD with TMPGEnc, but wondered if it was possible to do multipass to improve quality ? I've had a look around TMPGEnc but can't find it anywhere.

    When ripping DVD's I use DVD2SVCD aand using CCE with passes set to 4 the quality is superb.

    Click on the SETTING button, go to the Video Tab, and click the "Rate control mode" SETTING button. You can select 2-pass there.
