I've captured some dv video using Ulead and am burning my films to svcd but when I play them back I get blocky pixels on the screen when things happen in fast motion. I tried using the dvd-pal format but the audio doesn't work although the picture looks good on my dvd player. Can someone help with the right settings for TMPGEnc so that I can retain my quality.Or please let me know of anything else I can use to get the picture quality good. (I am in Australia, so PAL is the format)

You either need to use a higher bitrate when encoding ( you can go up to 2748kbits/second including audio ). SVCD shouldn't have a problem with the bitrate noise your describing, as it has a high enough bitrate to eliminate most block noise. You may need to use a better motion seach algorithm setting in TMPeg. It will make the encoding process much longer, but the end results are worth it. You can find that setting on the VIDEO tab, at the bottom "Motion search precision". Try using the 'Normal' setting, or even the 'Slower' settings. It will come down to personal choice between the time you want to spend encoding in TMPGEnc, and the end result you get watching it on your player.
