    I just bought the Sopranos Season 3 DVDs and was ripping them so I would have a copy at my lake house. Everything went fine until I was ripping the second episode on the 4th disc. Smart Ripper froze at 42%. I also tried using DVD Decryptor and had the same problem. I thought maybe the DVD was defective so I exchanged it for a new set and it still does it.

    I've never had any problems with ripping in the past. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    My mistake. The ripping process doesn't freeze, it just gets REALLY SLOOOOOW. The ripping speed drops from about 8x down to about 0.1x.

    I've had that happen with a few discs with Smartripper. I used a different DVD drive and it went away. Also, you can try using dvd decrypter or some other program and see if that helps.

    or even my software as it used the same ripper "vStrip"
