  1. I want to make some cue/bin of vcds, but I'm not sure if I should enable raw mode or just leave it as cooked. I heard that cooked mode will have error correction, but I'm not sure if it's true for vcds.

  2. It doesn't really matter for VCDs...

  3. vitualis is correct it doesn't matter for VCD's. Using cooked mode will save you disc space... about 21% since the some of the extra data (like error correction) isn't save with the image, it's recreated by the writer when you burn the image.

  4. Thanx you guys,
I was also wondering if the cd is scratched, should I cook it or still leave it as raw. I heard that the physical errors on the original cd will also be on the copied version if i rip in raw.

    Sorry Ima newbie..

  5. The only reason you would want to rip using RAW mode is if you want to copy something that has intentional errors in the non-data sections. ie. some games with copy protection that intentionally put bad blocks into the CRC bits. You are correct if you read in RAW mode and there's scratches you will get bad bits in those areas assuming the CD is readable... if the scratches are too much the CD ROM may not even be able to read it in RAW mode or Cooked mode.
