  1. hi,

    i really need some help
ive been trying to encode a divX movie in to svcd usin lsx mpeg encoder 3.0
my system is a pentium 2 400 mhz with 128 mb ram.

ive read the guide etc, done exactly what it told me
then i start encoding it all seems to run fine etc.

then after a minute or 5 i stop it to sample the file i open it in xing mpeg player.. and i vieuw the file i see a black screen with lets say at the top of the screen a line from left to right, and on there like some movin blocks like pixels they always look the same n with every movie.

so to make it simple i see a black screen with at the top of the screen blinkin pixels .

it mgiht sound weird but i cant really give an all to good discription.

but anyway i get this with scvcd encoding . and vcd with lsx
i know my system is a bit slow . but it fills the requirements

and please dont say use tmpegenc. cuz it gives me the same thing. its slow as hell, freezes alot etc, but when i finally 1 time had svcd to work on it it gave me the same black screen at the end that was a 50minute long clip.

i know it isnt my slow system cuz it can at least handle mpeg1 vcd encoding

because i always do this with xing mpeg encoder. and it makes pretty good [not as perfect as a tmpenc sample] vcds from my divX files real sharp and not bad at all. a bit blocky at most

but mpeg1 vcd with lsx gave me the same black screen.
i cant figure this out.... my divX fiels are of close dvd quality so i would really like to encode this in svcd [witch xing mpeg encoder doesnt support]

please help me out ... i would really appreciate it
    im lost
    thanks in advance.

  3. I think your answer is this:

Xing Mpeg Player ONLY Plays MPEG-1 (VCD) NOT Mpeg-2 (SVCD) so you need to get an Mpeg-2 player my friend.

Cyberlink PowerDVD is a purchase player with a downloadable demo

That's the problem with SVCD - very limited tools and players are avaible for it. But, more are coming out, thankfully.
