  1. I have a Movie File (MPEG) that is only audio and not video.
When I play it,I get the WMP visuals.
The file is only a little over 6MB so I am wondering, does MPEG also mean audio?Rather than video?
If it were a visual video I think it would be bigger than 6MB but why do I get the WMP icon and why is it called an movie file MPEG when I look at it's properties.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I think I found out what it is.Might be wrong, but could it have been coded wrong when going from AVI to MPEG?
I tried to repair it but since I don't think all of the content is there I don't think it can be fixed.
Or is there another explanation for this?

windows assigned icons (icons that are not part of a exe or sim. file) and what windows calls a file are meaningless if the extension is wrong ..

yes a file can be mpg and audio only ... in fact you could prob rename it to xxx.wav and it would stillplay and if you checked windows will call it a wave file ..
