I've only been doing this for a couple of months. I've tried many times to rip the dvd "The Matrix" with every piece of software I can find, but every time I try, the result is not a good rip. The beginning of the movie plays just fine until the cops are about to arrest Trinity. Then the movie starts hanging up and replaying a couple of seconds. I've played it forward a couple of minutes and it still does it later on. Has anyone been successful in ripping this movie? If so, please enlighten someone who's not that experienced in this area yet. Thanks in advance.

I believe this is because of the seamless branching and the "Follow the White Rabbit." The first time this happens is when they try to arrest Trinity. There is a guide on how to rip seamless branched movies, but I think it might be at doom9.org. It tells you how to identify the program chain used for the regular movie, etc.

This is the link where I was reading about it:

I just got through ripping the matrix about 2 weeks ago. I don't know exactly what method you are trying( dvd9 to 2dvd-r/re-encode and remux using ifoedit/or rencode and author ) Well this is method I used with no problems. I used smartripper and demuxed audio and video to extra file. Then re-encoded using rempeg or cce. And the authored using DVDMaestro and burnt with nero.
I know you don't get the all the bells and whistles but this method is easiest and most compatable I have found. I had lot of problems with ifoedit's compatiblity. Some Dvd players will play some will not. The same goes for alot of authoring programs. DVDMeastro is probably the Most compatable authoring program I have found( also alot of features). Scenarist might be just as good I haven't had a chnce to test it out. if you need help PM me. -
Thank you both for the information. I knew somebody in the forums would know how to do it. Thanks again to both of you.

There is another way of doing it..
Use Smart Ripper. When it open up on the main stream you need to pay attention that there are two angles for the main movie. Uncheck the one that does not match the movie time.
and Viola!.
Enjoy
