What resolution or what template did you use?
    Hello.

  3. NTSC VCD Template, 352 x 240. UYVY Interlaced. I know the tutorial says to use 24 bit RGB, but everytime I try to select it VirtualDub says that the format isn't supported.

    edit: Corrected the template.

At the risk of sounding like a total idiot, I must ask... Did you convert your AVI's to MPEG-1's using a program like TMPGEnc, and second, did you burn your MPEG-1's to CD using a program like VCDEasy (or I understand Roxio's Easy CD Creator Platinum can do this), or did you just burn the MPEG to a data CD? Burning the MPEG to a data CD won't work. There's a special format that a VCD must be in and VCDEasy knows how to do this...

  6. Yeah, used TMPGEnc to encode, Nero to burn into VCD Format.
Found out in the chat last night I was using the wrong resolution but have that fixed now... I am starting to think my burner just doesn't like me.

I've heard of people having problems with Nero when trying to burn VCDs. Try VCDEasy - it works very well for me. Just click on "Tools" along the left side of your screen and scroll down to the VCD/SVCD Author/Burn section and you should find VCDEasy. Best of all, it's FREE!

  8. heh, I'm trying to get VCDEasy configured after installing it. I couldn't get CDRDAO to work without ASPI, so I download ASPI, install it, and VCDEasy says the ASPI doesn't seem valid, and can't detect any drives. Can somebody please help?!

ASPI doesn't work with USB drives - is yours a USB drive or is it an IDE or SCSI internal?

  10. IDE internal. Sony CRX160E.

Also, is there a minimum length of a VCD? I'm testing with 6 minute segments..

  11. Have you check your DVD player compatibility ? ......some older models couldn't play CD-R disc . Mine can accept CD-RW disc but not CD-R .

    It might be the problem.

  12. Mine plays both. One of the first things I checked. Thanks though!

  13. What's your DVD player brand and model ?
Have you tried to burn with 1X speed ?

    Sorry for the irritating suggestion...

  14. lol, not irritating. Pioneer DV-343. Haven't tried 1x burn yet, trying to get VCDEasy to work, but the ASPI is giving me problems.

  15. Well, here's a link to an FAQ about VCDEASY. It might help, just give it a try. http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Guides&id=Cdrdao#ASPI

    Good Luck 8)

  16. heh, Ok, I've done all that now. Thank you for the link I'm starting to think my burner just can't handle it or something. Or it's the media. Which media do you recommend? Because I can get my VCDs to play on the VCD player I downloaded.
