Hi I really hope someone can help.
I have a very strange problem, I am very experienced in creating VCd's and they are nearly always OK for playing both in my standalone DVD player and on both my PC's
However Recently I borrowed a few VCD'sfrom a friend, after copying them using nero burning on the copy CD facility I found that these VCD's would play fine on my Stand alone DVD player, but they won't play on my 2 PC's via any program but specifically on Power DVD it says disc may be corrupt (I know this isn't the case)
I took these disks to my friends and he tried them on four different PC's and they worked fine on all his machines.
The only difference I can think that may provide an explanation is that His original disks were created on machines all running XP Pro whereas my two machines are running windows 2000 pro.
I have also found exactly the same thing on one one file VCD I downloaded from a newsgroup and burned from the Cue and Bin files. It has exactly the same symtoms as the VCD's I copied. (again it plays fine on my JVC standalone but not on my PC's)
I have a great deal of experince creating VCD's but this is absoulutely puzzling.
Anyone else experienced this problem or found a cure I'd be very grateful for your help.
Thanks
Ian![]()

open up "Windows Media Player" and choose FILE > OPEN.
Now go to where it says "Files of type:" and choose "All Files (*.*)"
no go in your VCD and then into the MPEGAV folder and select one of the files ending in .dat and click "OPEN"
it should work fine.DVD to VCD made eazy
