My new DVD-Player ist excellent and plays DVD-Audio too. According to Yamaha the player does not play SVCD´s. I experienced the following:
- plays no self-made SVCD´s (made with TMPEGEnc with SVCD-res.)
- plays VCD´s very well
- plays VCD/SVCD´s very well (mpeg2-bitstream with VCD-header)
- plays CVD´s (made with CCE with VBR and at 1/2 DVD-res.) well
The question is: why does CVD work, while the player does not play SVCD? In my opinion playing no SVCD seems to be a software/firmware problem. If I try SVCD the movie is like slow motion with sound in little steps.
Any idea? Thx in advance

CVD does not work OK; if the pictures move fast I have the same problems as SVCD, only parts of movies without action are well.

Mike100,
As per the link below - your player doesn';t play SVCD's so I doubt anybody will have any fixes for you ...

Funnily enough, the lower spec model (that I have incidently - the 520) plays the lot - including XSVCD's.
