  1. ok I downloaded the SVCD of a movie, and it plays fine on my comp @ home, but burned the mpegs to cd and brought them in to work, and now the mpeg is distorted. The movie appears to be about half the width that it should be now, and when I full screen it, it makes the movie still half the width and puts the black borders on the side that are normally on the top and bottom.
    any help would be great.
    thanks.

WinDVD is one of the few player that respects the aspect ratio of the source. Without WinDVD or other player that can be resized to specifi aspect ratios it will squish it down from 4:3 to 1:1 unfortunatly.

  5. I'm sure it's just a codec issue, but the problem is finding out which codec the mpg is using. I've installed the Nimo build .... codec and that still did not fix the problem. the audio plays but not the video in Windows Media Player. I've installed the Elecard Mpeg2 player/codec, and it fixed the resolution problem if I used the Elecard player but the playback is choppy and slow but the problem still exists in Media Player. and so u know the movie is Scooby Doo.
(is there a way to list the codecs used to rip an mpeg? like u can an avi)
    thanks.
