do u recomend the delta 12x dvdrom or hitachi 8x? delta is $20 and hitachi is $15. im gettin some good and bad reviews on the delta......

Forget what the others say, lots of that stuff is 3rd party and hearsay anyway, freggin idiots!
I just got my Delta (http://deltacdrom.com) from Staples for $49, works absolutly great, okay just fine then...
Not a problem one out of it. Use Smart Ripper (See: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdtovcd.htm). Make sure you:
1) Enable DMA (Dont ask how, search your answers here, the web and usegroups)
2) Use UDAM IDE cable
Will boost you from around 1.5X average to 4.5X-5X average.
Good luck, and get the Delta, its a fine drive...
