  1. Hi guys how do i create a xsvcd using tmpg? There are guides to create a xvcd but not xsvcd? Whats the difference? Which is better quality mpeg1, or mpeg 2? when creating vcd ,svcd , xsvcd etc??

  2. XSVCD is in MPEG-2 with the disc burnt as if it were a SVCD.

    The quality will depend on the settings and since they are "non-standard" they can be anything you want.

    any kbit/sec MPEG-2 both variable and constant bitrate
    352 x 288 pixels
    352 x 576 pixels
    720 x 576 pixels
    25 frames/second
    with up to 4 Subtitles
    Audio:
    32-384 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2
    with up to 2 Audio Tracks
    Extra:
    Menus and chapters
    Still pictures in 704x576,352x288


    XSVCD NTSC
    Video:
    any kbit/sec MPEG-2 both variable and constant bitrate
    352 x 240 pixels
    352 x 480 pixels
    720 x 480 pixels
    29,97 frames/second
    (23,976 frames/second NTSC Film)
    with up to 4 Subtitles
    Audio:
    32-384 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2
    with up to 2 Audio Tracks
    Extra:
    Menus and chapters
    Still pictures in 704x480,352x240

  4. Well actually, the frame size can be anything you want...

    XVCD = non-standard VCD which means it can be pretty much anything.

    Of course, certain things are more likely to work than others...

    Make an mpeg2 and burn it with nero as a non standard vcd.I make 16:9 videos for my widescreen,with tmpg,and they are much better than mpeg1.
