  1. Using VirtualDub, Avi_IO or any other capturing program I've used.. there's unusually low audio for the channels and I don't know why.. my Windows recording control preferences has the line in balance to the max.. and the cable box's volume is up all the way but I still can't hear anything.. does anyone know any probable causes or possibly solutions? I'm using the All In Wonder Radeon with XP & soundblaster live 5.1 soundcard...

Another thing is I was wondering if I could capture directly to MPG using avi_io or any other program that allows timers? I didn't know what codec to use and how to make it capture to mpg instead of avi.. WinVCR won't even load under the error "The ordinal 6442 could not be located in the dynamic link libary MFC42.DLL" .. but I'd like to have it capture to MPG when I'm not here and a VCD compliant MPG is that's possible.. does it make it smaller in size?

Last problem (for the moment) is still capturing to DIVX and not being able to make it small.. using divx311 alpha in virtualdub, my divxs are still larger than my AVIs used with Huffy, so am I supposed to capture it with Huffy and convert it afterwards??

    Thanks for your time.......

  2. IMHO, I really think that the MMC software 7.7.0.0.1 is actually the highest quality all-around MPEG capture software available to the ATI users. I don't have any actual sync problems or anything. I use the built in timers, which work as advertised.

I do, however, use the scheduled task options in Windows in order to shut down the ATI TV application between recordings. This allows the PC to go into suspend between programs.

I am in the process of writing a guide for "ATI un-supervised VCR model" to post in the near future. In addition, it will explain the volume "issues" associated with MMC out of the box, and will have links to registry "patches" on my site.
