  1. I am making a VCD from a DVD rip (Gladiator). The DVD is 97%+ NTSC Film. Should I use 23.976fps or 29.97fps. Also what is the best way to estimate the final file size when using something like 2-pass VBR and what are some good settings for the avg and max bitrates . Don't mind using 2 CD's. Also, what would be the correct settings in TMPEG to preserve the widescreen (stream and source settings). It seems as though when I use 16:9 NTSC for both the black bars are not as wide.
    Thanks.

  2. -If you want only VCD, I'll suggest to go with 29.97fps.
-Use bitrate calculater under tool section. (I'm not sure about this one never use one)
-If you player can handle XVCD you can go as high as you want and to fit whole movie into 2 cd so that you don't waste your CD space.
-I can't remember what type of screen for Gladitor but to preserve you have to set Aspect ratio to 16:9 NTSC, and Full screen (keep aspect ratio).
