  1. Hi there,

I have a small problem when I try to extract just the AVSEQ01.mpg file from a SVCD .bin file with WinISO. The mpeg file seems to be corrupted, it just plays as green screen with a few pixels of the original movie at the top of the screen.

If I burn the .bin file using the .cue sheet onto CDR it works fine and I can copy the AVSEQ01 file from the CD. The reason I want to do this is to join the disc 1 & 2 mpegs and burn to DVDr. However, I don't want to have to burn 2 CDRs just to get an OK copy of the mpg each time I want to make a DVD.

Am I doing something wrong with WinISO? I thought it was supposed to be able to extract files from .bin?

    Cheers,

    DJ

Are you sure its just not your PC playing it back incorrectly ?, if its put back on a CDR-W does it then play OK on the DVD ?

Try Power DVD 4, it has a good mpeg 2 codec, and TMPGEnc Plus will also load your Mpeg 2 to preview (No sound in preview).

  4. Yo it happens to me too, if I extract from the BIN the file won't open on TMPG, and also won't open on my DVD players. I am kinda lost in this situation!!!!!

  5. Hey dude, it happens but I figured it out.. if you check the files here in VCDHELP! they tell you to use a program caled CDMAGE...

Use CDMAGE to extract the file from the BIN FILE...
it uses MODE 2 2352 data stream when it extracts compared to WINISO which uses MODE 1 2352.

In MODE 1 it handles the file basically as a DATA file and therefore when it is extracted, it corrupts the file.

in MODE 2 the file is streamed into a viewable formatt which works great. Now my movie works in TMPG, and also my DVD Player. YAHOO!

You could use Daemon tools to mount the bin image as a virtual CD Drive and grab the file from that.

  7. See, I knew you guys were out there!

King JohnYes, it plays fine if I put it on a CDRW. If I try to play it in Power DVD XP, I get the green screen crap. mpg won't load into TMPGEnc (illegal mpeg stream error). If I copy the mpg from the CDR it works fine in both, I just don't wanna have to burn a CDR just to get the mpg stream out.

Vagrant ChrisXThat sounds like what I'm looking for!!! I suspected WinISO was causing the corruption when it extracted the mpg. I had thought of trying BIN --> ISO conversion, then trying to extract the mpg from the ISO. I'll check out CDMAGE and have a go.

Donalo I'll try this if CDMAGE doesn't work for me.

Cheers for all the help you guys!!!
