  1. I used smartripper and spruce up, the movie was 3.99GB and audio was 290MB, but when I tried to add chapter points i noticed that the movie was missing about 10 or 15 minutes. It did this on several movies, so I tried ReMPEG2 and it the movie file was then 2.84GB and it was still cut off. I'm running windows 98. Is this the problem

  2. Make sure you set the project type correctly in SpruceUp. If the original film is NTSC, then make sure your project is NTSC (same goes for PAL).

  3. it's because the movie is actually over 4gb but unless you are using NTFS you cannot have a file that large as fat/fat32 doesn't support it so it cuts off at 3.99gb

If you are using NT/ Win200/XP just convert a partition to NTFS otherwise you'll have to re-encode it to under 4gb

NTSC/Pal settings in spruce-up won't make a bit of difference as the end of the movie has been chopped off. Spruce-up lets you load a Pal movie into an NTSC project or the other way around and you can view the whole movie and create menus, chapters etc without any problems , it only complains when you try to write or make an image.

  4. spooki - Forgive me for being stupid, but I am. what do you mean by using NTFS, the only place I saw this was in spruce up and you said this didn't matter, that it would still chop it off. So is there a way to fix this? I am running 98 windows. How do I go about putting the movie in as PAL and then as NTSC - will NERO burn the whole movie? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I just got this DVD writer 2 weeks ago and It's making me CRAZY! Thanks
BTW I did try to re-encode it and it still cut off in spruce up at the same place.
