Movie Freezing

Help please this is driving me NUTS!!!!!

All my movies have been encoded with Tmpg from either downloded avi's or m2v file ripped from original dvd's. They are authored and burned with with Movie factory.

The problem I have is the movies freeze at different points, but when played again it plays through that part and will freeze at a different part.

I have used various disks and this happens in all standalones I have tried (around 8 of them all compatable according to the forums).

It appears that the standalones can read the disks but don't entirely like the structure of way it is written or authored.

I know that freezing is a common problem, but if people were getting as much of it as me then they would not be using dvd-r's.

I have read a lot on the forum about different ways of authoring and burning like authoring with Movie factory and burning with Nero but nobody states why and what problem this has eliminated. I even read one that tells you to delete the Audio TS file but doesn't say exactly why.

I have copied other DVD-r from unknown sources without the freezing problems, Just copied disk to disk.

I have a pioneer 104.

If any of my points have been covered in full in previous posts then I apologise.

I have also read that Movie factory will not accept files over 4gig. I have authored a couple of movies over that size and it has not chopped the end off.

Have you installed Nimo Codecs. That has an anti-Freeze utility or codec.

I've installed nimo and any other codec I could get hold of.

On looking at this further and looking at other problems people have been having.

Is there any possibility that it is because file sizes are near or over 4 gig or 2 movies put on 1 disk with a simple menu but the combined size is just over 4 gig.

I've read that Moviefactory chops off the end of the movie when it is over these file sizes. I have not had this problem it authors and burns the full movie, but I have these freezing problems.

Your thoughts please would be greatly appreciated.

Can someone please explain why some people author with Moviefactory and burn with Nero, I can see no apparent reason for this.
