Ijust used virtual dub for the first time and joined two avis.My problem is after i joined them the qality of the full movie was not as goodas the two individual parts(they were dvd rip).I tried it twice and got the same results. The movie was from tmd and i noticed that when i was joining them i was using divx codec.I know that tmd use their own codec, could this be what caused the poor quality?Do i need to be using filters ?If so which ones should i use?Or is something different all together?Any help would be much appreciated.I have a lot of movies that i would like to join so if anybody knows what i might be doing wrong or can recommend a different joiner, please reply to this post.
Thank You

Please list the exact procedure and software you used to join the 2 AVI files.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
This is the guide i used to join the avi files using virtualdub 1.4.10
Click on file, open video file.
Select part 1 of the movie.
click on VIDEO and highlight direct stream copy
Click on AUDIO, should be on avi.
Select VIDEO again.
Click on SELECT RANGE and set START OFFSET RANGE at 15 frames.
Click OK.
Click on FILE, FILE INFORMATION. Make sure its the right info
on the one you want.
part one complete.
Part TWO.
Click on file, APPEND AVI SEGMANT.
then click on the PART 2 of the movie.
There should be a blue line across the bottom of VD.
Click on Video.
make sure its still on DIRSCT STREAM COPY and the select
range is still 15 frames.
Done.
PART THREE
Click on FILE,SAVE OLD FORMAT AVI or save as avi.
It will show the name of the last file you clicked on.
RENAME This NOW or you will LOSE the second part.
I.E. - [tmd]dog.soldiers.cam.(2of2).avi
TO - [tmd]dog.soldiers.cam.full.avi
Hit save.
