I have burnt a dvd-r using khypermedia media and a pioneer 104 dvd-r drive. the disc will nly play in my dvd-r drive and 6 chapters on my apex500w. the seventh chapter skips badly. my ps2 reads it fine but when i hit play nothing comes up and it goes back to the browser menu on the ps2. i tried lowering the speed in ulead but my only options are 9x(not possible) and max. i would like to burn at 1x and see if it helps. is there any kind of firmware or patches i can try. i have searched on google but nothing. thanx in advance.

Explain in detail the process that you are using to rip the original DVD and create your DVD-R.

hi, first i rip it using claddvd. then i use dvd2avi. then i use tmpeng to lower bitrate and make it fit on one disc. it is usually like 3500 megs.i author menus using ulead and burn it with my pioneer 104 on khypermedia discs.it plays fine on my pioneer dvd drive in my computer but it does not play on my ps2. it only reads that there is a dvd video in the drive but wont play it. the first 6 chapters will play in my apex500w but then the last chapter freezes and skips.i think it is the type of media and i tried to lower the burning speed but my only other option is 9x or max in ulead. i dont know if it is also a problem with ulead reading my writer or the writer itself.the writer shows up fine in device manager.

It could very well be the media. If it plays fine in your computer, then you probably authored it correctly. I would try different media and see how it goes.
