    Instead of copying a dvdr 1:1, I want to just extract the main movie (mpg), then use that to create my own dvdr, with new menus and new extras.

    Is there an easy way to do this? Or do I have to extract the vob, then convert to avi or mpg? Will I lose any quality that way?

    Any help/advice greatly appreciated!

    you can rip doing stream processing in smart ripper, dvd decrypter or vstrip. so just rip to ac3 and m2v
