I've been following this faq below, for making menus and chapters for my own VCD's;

But the problem is I need some more depth on using powerpoint for making the buttons for the menu.

Why are you using PowerPoint to make "buttons"??
The buttons on a VCD are not "selectable" in the same what DVD menus are.
You should preferably use an imaging program of some sort to make the source images for your menus (e.g., Paint Shop Pro).
If you do use PowerPoint, I believe you can use it to export to a series of JPEGs (File --> Save As --> JPEG --> "yes" when it asks if you want to export all the slides).

there are few VCDS that have still menus where you could select scenes (chapters) from the menu. And I want to know how they do that.
I have no problem adding still image menus into the VCD, but I want to know how to select a scene and let the player or navigator react towards that function. -
if there's another faq that could help me, or get me more info on this it would be really helpful.
