I have a divx file that when I encode it in premiere it is crooked and black and white (i've tried outing to multiple formats and tried the divx to vcd conversion on this site). I've searched this forum and others for info but found none. Any ideas on how to fix?
Thanks
Joe

Try encoding with TMPGE..one of the best.

There is a variety of templates in the Tools section to your left.

I doubt its copy-protection problem.
Try using vidomi to see if it plays correctly on your system and then you can convert it accordingly in this proggy to avi, mpeg, .divx etc.
And then try authoring it to vcd or whatever. -
The file plays fine through windows media player and through premiere. if i move the timeline scroller manually it then goes b/w and crooked. this is really bizarre as i've converted everything using premiere without any probs. The quality of this file is very good and i would really like to find a fix.
Thanks

Load it into Virtualdub. See if it plays in colour. If so, set Video to *Direct stream copy*, Audio to *No audio* and save it with a different name. Try this with TMPG. If still OK, extract the audio as uncompressed wav from the original avi.
