  1. Hello all. I am using VirtualDub 1.4.10 to in full processing mode to extract the audio from a .avi and then convert it to a .wav under
    -->file-->save WAV.

    The reason why I am doing this is so that when I convert the .avi(video) to a .mpeg with TEMPGEnc i use the .wav as the input audio file...

    This creates a burnable .mpeg with full audio. [learned all that from this site: thnx ]

    The error message comes right when I click to save the wav.

    It says Exactly:

    The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.

    misc settings that might help:
    audio-->conversion: sampling rate is set to 44100Hz
    audio-->compression: is set to <no compression (PCM)>
    file-->file information: 640X352, 23,976 fps
    audio stream: 48000Hz
    audio compression: unknown(tag 2000)

    Any suggestions at this time would be great!!

    Thnx in advance

    Gadnium

  2. Well, what do you know, I'm having the same problem... Hmm, stupid question, but isn't the movie:"WINDTALKERS"? I never had this problem with any film before... Maybe the problem is the DivX itself...

    Gadnium,
    What you've got there is a file that’s encoded with ac3 audio. Change your settings from full processing to direct stream. Then save the wave as "all files" instead of .wav and add the file extension .ac3 to the end of the file name. From there your going to need an external encoder to convert the ac3 file into a wave with a program such as HeadAC3he. There are other conversion utilities, but I use this one and it's pretty straight forward. You can find it here: http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/svcdguide/svcd.html
    One word of caution, make sure you download the correct dll's for the type processor in your system and extract them into the same directory that you placed HeadAC3he since they're not included in the main program.
    Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack
