  1. Would love to get some help with this:

I have a ripped dvd movie of over 4.7 GB the movie itself will fit 1 dvdr.
The movie and menus are placed in Vts_06_x.vob.
The Video_ts file has only "junk" as FBI warnings etc.
Extras and other trailer are in other Vts_xx_x.vob

    My question is:
If i want only the main movie and menus which are placed together in the same place vobs Vts_06_0 to Vts_06_5 how would i go about it and have new relevant Video_ts files made....would the menus work? Would i have dead links in the menu where i took out the vobs for other trailers, deleted scenes etc?

I tried coping these vobs...while stripping unwanted subtitle streams and not deleting any vob IDS....creating new Video_TS.IFO & VTS_01_0.IFO...
but when playing the Video_ts.IFO from powerdvd i did not get the menus...
    Why is that....
The second question is how should i do the Get VTS sectors?
Do i do it on every IFO file and the Video_ts.Ifo file last?
Would the menus work after this?

    Thanks in Advance
    Nim

  3. To keep the movie menu original u need to rip the whole movie to the hard drive and play the movie in ifoedit it tells u the titles played. All those titles are required to make your finished version playable. Along with vts01_xx.vob and ifo files. So just look in the video_ts.ifo and see what titles played belong to which set. Then strip all unwanted stuff subs extras and audio. Hope this helps if not check out doom9 guides they rock.

    1. When you choose to create new Video_TS.IFO & VTS_01_0.IFO, the menu is not included. If you create these *.IFO files using the original IFO files, then the chapter information and language/subtitles information is preserved. If you create these IFO files using the VOB files (in case you don't have the original IFO files) then you have to edit them after, manually and to specify which track, what language contains.

This is useful only when you can't keep the menu files due to size...
If you want to keep the menu's then read Derrow's guide from the Web adress above...

    2. Get VTS Sectors has nothing to do with the menus. This command corrects only the start sectors in the IFO files. This correction is necessarry because the DVD Players, unlike the computers use UDF file system to play the disc, If you don't correct the sectors, your DVD will be playable only on computer because the DVD player will be unable to find where a certain title begins. Note that although these command applies only when you delete something from the original movie (and change file allocation) I use it also on DVD's below 4.3 Gb (single layer) because they have also errors sometimes.

    Good Luck

The link is not working because maybe they remove it from server. An alternative is:

    http://mpucoder.dynodns.net/derrow/menu.htm

You can find these two links in the About Box in Ifoedit. This link is still working because I already tried it 1 minute ago.

I hope they'll keep it that way.

P.S.: The root link for all the information about Ifoedit is:
    http://mpucoder.dynodns.net/derrow/

    Read and good luck !
