  1. Hi, I've just installed PowerDVD XP 4.0 on my computer (winXP) but when ever i play a dvd it plays dark and even with windows media player. Is it possible it done sumthing to my codecs?

  2. I can only say that PowerDVD works great on my XP computer. It's always hard to say how different computer programs will interact with each other so I suppose it is possible that PowerDVD messed up something that was working before. It would not be very difficult to reinstall codecs. If you are using more than one monitor (for example if your computer is hooked to a TV) just go back to one monitor until you solve this problem.

  3. when ever i install powerDVD 3.0 it comes up wit a diagnostic test thing to set the right colour but XP 4.0 doesnt how do i set the rite colous. even my divx movies play all dark

  4. Maybe you set you gamma of your monitor too dark.
    Have you tried to set any video setting in 4.0XP to different setting { Original, Vivid, Bright, Theater}?

    Does WMP also play AVI's dark (All types) ?

  6. i've set the colours manually on PowerDVD, but the video colour on my whole system seems to have been changed.

  9. go to your device manager, and under display adapters you should see your video card, remove it, reboot, and it will either automatically reinstall them or ask you for the disc containing the drivers

    Fil in your computer details, then at leasted we will know what graphic card you have.

    Don't you have advanced settings in your cards settings ?

  11. I re-installed my video card but it still wont work. I've messed around with all the display settings but still wont work. why wont the damn thing play with the right colour

    In Power DVD, right click screen and select Configuration, then select Video and change the colour profile...
