Hi could ne1 suggest a card that will capture video and audio all together from a video recorder. I want to make all my old NBA games to SVCD but dont have a capture card yet. I have around $200AUD (about 100USD) to spend. I have tried borrowing my uni's card but it only captures video (no audio) and for some reason the avi captured is short but played in like 2x speed so its like the length is halved but actual full footage is still played, just at twice the speed.
What codec do you recommend using to compress the video as I might have not enough space to save raw avi files.
Thanks.

I don't know what card you can get for 100 USD(check out online shops), but you can capture the sound seperatly with a normal sound card. When the configuration in your capture application (like Virtual Dub)is right, there shouldn't be any problems with the syncronisation.
the huffyuv codec is recommended by many users, but for some reason it's too slow on my PC. So I use the Pegasus mjpeg codec. It runs like hell even on high resolutions (720x540) on my PIII450@558.
